About YumSpot
YumSpot is a free iPhone and Android app that helps you choose where to eat with short restaurant videos made by food creators. The yumspot.app website shows the restaurants of the app: address, opening hours, Google rating, reviews, delivery and booking links. The videos are watched in the app.
Who is behind YumSpot
YumSpot is published by SN Consulting, a company based in Paris (see the legal notice). The app is available in France, Belgium, Algeria and other countries.
How a restaurant gets on YumSpot
- A food creator posts a video of the restaurant, and we add it to the app with its address.
- The team adds brands and locations from their official websites and Google Maps.
- A restaurant owner can manage their listing to complete it.
No restaurant pays to be listed or to rank higher.
How restaurants are ranked
Lists ("top rated in Lyon", "burgers in Paris"…) are sorted by Google rating weighted by the number of reviews: rating × log10(1 + number of reviews). A 5 from 3 reviews does not rank above a 4.6 from 2,000 reviews. The ranking is recalculated at every site update.
Where the information comes from
- Ratings, quoted reviews, opening hours and addresses: Google Maps, attributed on each page.
- YumSpot reviews: left in the app by users, after their visit.
- Videos: published by creators, in the app.
- Halal: reported by the YumSpot community, not certified. Check with the restaurant.
